INDIA GUJARAT STATE EARTHQUAKE

  • Save The Children UK contracted with Builders Without Borders to provide 3 Construction Advisors to assist in the construction of sixteen buildings consisting of dispensaries, health sub centres, and primary health centres. These buildings are between 1,000 sq. ft. and 2000 sq. ft.:
  • Builders Without Borders will also advise on the construction of
    115 child development centers of 450 sq. ft. in 80 villages.
  • The construction commenced in 2001 and completed, 2002.
  • The first construction advisor spent 3 months on site, the second 5 months, and the third 3 months.

    These photographs show the buildings to be reconstructed and the completed.

The model of the child development centres will be constructed at 115 sites in the small and remote villages in Gujarat State
